This has been bugging the shit out of me for awhile now, so I gotta bitch about it. Now, I like American Idol. I didn’t think I would when it first started, as I am totally against any and all reality shows. But, it caught my attention and now I’m hooked, especially since the show has weeded out most of the teeny boppers and drawn some real talent, such as the rockers and the country singers. The last two years have been great. I also enjoy watching Nashville Star, as I am a big fan of country music. Now, I watched Idol last night, just like most people I’m sure, and so many things about it pissed me off.

The music didn’t bother me (even though some of them were horrible), and whats-her-name getting kicked off, that didn’t bother me. What did bother me was the horrific amount of advertising DURING the show. While everyone hates commercials, they are a necessity for local programming, and I’m ok with that. But during the fucking show? Come on. Yes, we know Cingular wireless is a big sponsor. Yes, we know that they have exclusive rights to all Idol music. BUT DO WE HAVE TO HEAR ABOUT IT EVERY 45 FUCKING SECONDS? Jeez man, we get the point, so please shut the fuck up about Cingular. Guess what? I’ve had Cingular, and they sucked! Thats why I dumped their ass 4 months ago to go with Nextel. Get that, NEXTEL! Someone (me) who demands good service dumped your “allover” network for the most shady covered service in the country, all becouse you suck so much!

The next thing that pisses me off is it’s other sponsor, Ford. I don’t mind Fords. I dont care for them, and the only one I would ever own is either a brand new or a very old Mustang, but thats me. Now, what gets me is the fact that they have taken over the group singing. They used to do group songs at the beginning of the Results show, live. They don’t do that anymore. No, they do some lame ass song in a Ford Commercial. DURING THE FUCKING SHOW! Damnit. I don’t want advertising during the fucking show.

Nashville Star does the same thing. Prilosec OTC. Irritating. Larry The Cable Guy and his new movie. Eh, ok, but this IS a talent show, not a talk show to help promote your new movie. John Cena. What the fuck is John Cena doing on a country music talent show? I mean, even Larry the Cable Guy is at least associated with the Country genre. Last I checked, John Cena was a WWE wrestler, who started out trying to be the next Eminem (and quite a poor try at that). Why, I ask? Becouse all he did was talk about and promote the WWE, a member of the USA channel I should add.

Now, the last thing to piss me off. Last night, Shakira and Wycleff performed live on the American Idol results show. The did their new song, “Hips Don’t Lie”. I dont mind the song, I LOVE THE VIDEO, but what happened last night apalled me. The song is entitled “HIPS dont lie”. HIPS PEOPLE! Where were the Hips shots? All I saw was crappy camera work, and most of the song showed Shakira chest up. Not that I’m complaining about watching Shakira’s chest bounce and all, but come on, the song is all about Shakira showing off her bellydancing skills and some serious ass shaking. That is the entire point of the song - HER FUCKING HIPS! And they barely showed any of it. Sorry to all the ladies who might take offense to this, but thats the guy part of me talking here. If any guys here get offended, well, grow up and go get a Maxim magazine.

This’ll be short and sweet. I was watching tv (yeah, theres a rarity) last night, and didn’t care for anything on at the time, as I was really just waiting for the Daily Show to come on. I switched over to WWE Raw. Now, I’m not much of a wrestling fan anymore. I used to love it as a kid, I even sprung for the chance to go watch Wrestlemania 3 years ago when they were up in Seattle. But now, I’ve pretty much gotten away from it. But, anyway, I got bored and wanted to see what was going on in the fake sports world. And what the fuck do I see? Rick Fucking Flair!! Wrestling! What the fuck is that guy still doing wrestling! He should be in a damn nursing home, not playing around with dumbasses 3/4 his age! And that kind of goes for all the other rejects still in the ring. Shawn Micheals, Triple H, and all the other guys who were there when I started watching 12 years ago. And just for the Hell of it, ALL THE FUCKING McMAHONS TOO! GO AWAY! All you guys are old and unwanted. The only guy that falls into that group that I feel should still be there is Mick Foley. He’s cool with me, as long as he never returns as Dude Love. I hated him.

So, I got some restrictions to go back to work. A sitting restrictions. All I can do is sit a desk, get up as little as possible, and not carry anything heavier than a pen. This was last week. My team and I talked about all the crap I could do, and it turned out to be qutie a lot of crap. But, management had different ideas. I had already been out of work for 8 weeks. I had six weeks of restrictions. Thats 14 weeks. Apparently, my employer has a 12 week position protection (position, not employment), where as if I can’t return to my regular position withing 12 weeks, they can replace me, and when I can return to full duty, I may find myself with a totally different position within the scope of my job. Total fucking bullshit. Why? Becouse my good friend Ryan had the same issue. Two months off, six weeks of desk duty, and he got to serve it all. Nothing against Ryan of course, but for one, I find this double standard a bit disturbing. Number two, my manager told me Sunday night that she would call and tell me as soon as she found out what they were gonna do. Monday morning she calls and says that they don’t know yet. After Tuesday, no word. I paged my manager a couple times, but with absolutely no response. So what happens? Wednesday morning some girl in California calls me to tell me that she is my “Case Manager”, explains the whole 12 week bullshit, and tells me that they won’t have me back, and that I should just sit at home for the next month or so until I can come back to work full time with no restrictions, and they have instructed my Medical Leave company to continue with my Short Term Disability payments. So, not only are they gonna continue to pay me to sit at home and do nothing instead of letting me come to work and do something productive (and let me earn a full paycheck), my own manager didn’t have the guts to call and tell me herself. Apparently they only wanna talk to me when theres good news to be handed out. They let someone I dont know in another state who has no idea whats going on, doesnt know anything about me or my job or my knee problems, call and do all they’re dirty work, just so with every question (more like angry complaints) I had she can just sit there and say “I’m sorry, but I don’t have the authority to do that, I’m sorry, but I don’t have that information”.

 FUCK YOU ALL!

Alright, moving on. The dogs are getting along pretty good. Fezgig annoys the hell out of Kaeo, Kaeo starts playfighting back, finally ends up “accidently” swatting Fezgig, Fezgig yelps and runs away, only to run back 10 seconds later and continue his annoyance.

I went and played poker the other night. Couldn’t get squat for cards, which is really probably why I lasted so long. Couldn’t play, so I just folded and watched everybody else play for awhile. Finally, my cards started coming, and my hard-ballin’ table hustlin’ style came all back to me. And I endup coming in second, after going all in with with high pair, and Shannon became a true river-rat, catching the only card that would give her the win on the river. But, she played great and had never won before, so it was all good, and I got my money back anyway. Plus, it was a small pot this week, as we were short on players.

 Timmy and I went and watched some local amateur Rally races yesterday, and while it was cool for the first four hours, after that, it lost its flavor. We were waiting for the big dogs to come out (there were lots of high-end modified cars), but after quite a long time with regular (some not so regular, but still someones everyday car), we were still waiting, and I got bored and headed home. I will hope to have some pics and possibly even some short videos up later (if my other crap-ass computer cooperates!).

Yeah, so, my dad got here late Thursday night, with my brand new puppy. YAY! Oh yeah, his name is Fezgig, after the great dog-like creature from one of my favorite movies, The Dark Crystal.

How awesome is Fezgig!?! Now he just needs to get fully potty trained.

My Dad and I went and saw the movie “The Hills Have Eyes” the other day. Wow. That was a serious WHAT THE FUCK? type of movie. All I gotta say is …. Damn. Far more fucked up and gruesome and whatever other oddity you can think of than I thought it would be. Damn. This will get a full review over at The Chad’s Movie Reviews.

We also went and saw V for Vendetta. Awesome, yet rather wierd. The Wachowski brothers do it again. With some sweet ass slow motion scenes. Freaking awesome. I’m probably gonna have to go see it again just to try and understand it all. But, as with every movie, it will be reviewed over here….

Welt, anyway, its Monday afternoon, and my Dad just left to head home about an hour ago. Kinda sucks, but it was definately time. I’ll have a lot more pics of Fezgig (and some more of Kaeo) put up over at my GooglePage, at http://cwhummel.googlepages.com
