My First Week Back To Work
May 3, 2006 4:20 pmYeah, so I headed back to work this week. My first night was Sunday. I tried staying up Saturday night/Sunday morning as late as I could, getting to about 5am. And I still woke up around 9am. I stayed in bed about half asleep till around noon. I was greeted back to work very warmly by everybody, as my team was in dire need of my talents. Since I was out 13 weeks, I had to get recertified on everything, as my certs got yoinked after 12 weeks, but, I kicked ass and am already back to normal. The first night was looooong, but i am happy to report that the knee performed SOLID. It got a bit sore at times, but, at the end of a Three day work week, I still have yet to feel the original pain. The only thing that does actually hurt is the hamstring where I am missing two ligaments (used to replace the ACL).
The only real bad part about this first week back to work (besides fixing all the idiots mistakes) is what happened last night. So after a quick first shift in the clean room last night, I came home on break to get some lunch, and noticed my hands were getting red, and spotty, and a little painful. I had seen something like this in the past, but never this bad. I got called back into the clean room about halfway through my break, and as I entered the gownroom to get my bunnysuit on, I put on the cotton glove liners (cotton gloves that go on before the latex gloves), which felt like running sandpaper across my fingers and palms. After a couple hours of fixing my machines, I had to leave, as my hands were in so much pain, it hurt to touch anything, and the heat of the gloves didn’t help. And now the fun part. There is no longer a nurse on staff after midnight. It was 1am. After finding my Manager and having a long discussion with a couple other managers, I was directed to sit in the cubicles until 6am when the nurse got in. And that is another story…..
So once I get down to the Nurses office, I had to stand in line. Then once she started talking to me and asking what was going on, I then had to fill out a three page “Skin Irritation” report (as my hands still hurt like hell). I quickly realized that this nurse was a FUCKING RETARD. Now, I can deal with people who dont always know the specifics of what I do, but damn, she had no clue about anything. To give you an idea, when I said that my fingers and palms hurt, and that it hurt whenever I moved them or touched anything, she replies : “SO, WHAT ARE YOU TOUCHING THAT MAKES THEM HURT?” Duh, you dumb bitch. ANYTHING!! And then she asks me what type of lotion I use. Yeah, I’m a guy lady. Use your head. And then she asked me what type of soap I use in the bathroom at work. Um, how the fuck do I know what type of soap they use in my employers bathroom? It was all I could do to not roll my eyes while she was looking at me, and even more so, I had to hold my tongue whenever she asked me one of those common sense questions.
In the end, I guess I am now allergic to Latex. So now, I am one of the special people who get their own special gloves.
What else……oh yeah…..THE DETROIT RED WINGS LOST!!! Yeah, guess how good of a mood that put me in?

I was considering giving you shit for the Wings, but after reading the top of the post I decided that was in bad taste.
At least now you can tell any bitches you drag home that you can’t use condoms because you’re allergic. That’s a plus!
Welcome back to work slacker.
