High Definition Concerts

July 17, 2006 6:03 pm

Ever since I got my HDTV back in February, I’ve been watching tons of shit on all the HD channels that Comcast gives. Especially any actual 1080i Channel (Discovery, INHD, and INHD2). Shit that I would never watch unless it was in High Definition Widescreen with a crystal clear picture on my bigscreen with full surround sound on my DTS Reviever. Yeah, it rocks. And here are my top 5 favorite concerts I have watched since it all started (for me at least):

1. Roy Orbison - 1987 Roy Orbison & Friends. Roy Oribson with all the greats of their field, such as Bonnie Rait, Bruce Springsteen, and Elvis Costello(it just came on the other day, and I loved it)

2. Lynyrd Skynyrd - 2003 Vicious Cylcle Tour (really, they rock. even without the original Van Zant, they still rock)

3. Motley Crue- 2005 Comeback/Reunion Concert. This was in Grand Rapids, MI. I went to college there, grew up 60 miles from there. My brother and I talked about getting tickets to this very same concert (the exact show I watched) when I was back home visiting last Christmas. (Wow, did we ever miss a great live show)

4. 3 Doors Down - When The Sun Goes Down tour (I have always enjoyed their music, and they do just as good live as in the studio…better then I can say about #5)

5. Puddle Of Mudd (You know, I love their music, but they just suck ass live)

There are plenty of other concerts shown, but from artists or music genres that I just dont wanna listen to.

3 Doors Down are bad-ass. I just saw Faith Hill and Tim Mcgraw in STL a few nights ago. I’ll be reviewing that tomorrow. Also, check out You, Me and Dupree…funniest fucking movie I’ve seen in years.

Hey, I checked out the movie “Equilibrium” and it was pretty good. You should check it out if you haven’t. It has Christian Bale in it. Nothing absolutely original, but entertaining nonetheless.

Later.

Burger: Hell yeah they are.

Ryan: I think it’s somewhere in my queue

Wish I’d seen the Motley Crue show, but especially sorry to have missed Bonnie Raitt. I’m a long-time fan of hers.
