The short yet long trip
July 24, 2006 6:13 amAlright people, lets get this party started. As you should know, I went camping this weekend, Thursday-Saturday. I would have liked to go longer, but I get out of work on Wednesday mornings and want some sleep before I have to pack up, drive for a couple hours and then unpack and set up tents and shit. And I have to come back on Saturday as I work Sunday night and want some fucking rest before I go work in that fucking cleanroom and have to walk 5 miles each night.
Anyway, I am sore as balls and tired as all hell. Even after getting back yesterday and just chillin’ all day, and then sleeping for a long ass time on my oh-so comfy bed, I’m still tired. My entire body aches. And my new truck, my baby, is dirty as fuck. And it doesn’t help right now that it’s about 3000 DEGREES OUTSIDE!(and there are no fans for sale ANYWHERE)
First off, we set out for a Lake we hadn’t been to yet. Took a wrong turn, ended up on a rocky ass trail going up the fucking mountain. I finally realized that we were going in the wrong direction, and proceeded to look for a good spot to turn around where I wasn’t looking over a fucking cliff to do it. This was about a 45 minute detour. We finally find the campground. FULL. So, we head to our fallback lake. In all my infinite wisdom, I decide to go all the way around the lake to get to a secret campground that I went to last year. FULL. 15 MINUTES BEFORE WE SHOWED UP (yes, the detour). So, back to the south side. And we finally find a spot. A place we have to park on the side of the road and carry all our shit to the site. But it turned out well.
A friend loaned us his raft so I wouldn’t have to buy my own or rent a canoe or anything. It had two main tubes which each had the large type air-plug. One was missing. Fucking jackass. But, we blew up the outer one anyway and it worked fine. We did some swimming, got the dog tired as possible by throwing his ball out into the lake about 100 times a day. I also did some fishing, and, as usual, didn’t catch shit. I am now 0-5 at this lake. I also learned some things about myself (more about my actions) that I didn’t know I was doing.
The only bad parts were where one of the guys decided late at night, during a high fire danger (which was mentioned at least 20 times) to throw all the leftover wood in the fire. Two minutes later we had a Park Ranger stopping by to yell at us for having a bonfire during a high fire danger. Then, the next morning, I got woken up around 8am by the park host, who was yelling at me for being too loud the night before. And she was A BITCH! We weren’t even being that loud (from what I can remember, as I was pretty hammered), but she was going on about how she was ready to kick us out (which I found humourous as we were leaving that day anyway) and this and that blah blah blah. Fucking BITCH. We found out later that she was yelling at everybody, as she did recieve a noise complaint, but it was for some retards at the other side of camp. Fucking bitch. And she even had the audacity to ask our nieghbors if I was treating my dog good. WHAT THE FUCK? FUCKING BITCH! I am seriously considering making a formal complaint against her.
And now, some of the photo’s we took. Each of us had our own camera’s, and they all did they’re own crazy shot shit. I’ll try to explain each of them. (click the thumbnail…it won’t bite)
I’ll have plenty more posted over here.

Dude…the fan situation is a bitchy bitch. I had to search every-friggin-where to find two extra overpriced box fans for the windows (thank you Freddy’s), because there are no damn a/c’s in the whole beaverton/hillsboro area, and hell if I’m driving to Lloyd Center.
Did you see it’s only 66 at Newport?! I went a weekend too early.
Sounds like you had quite a time *chuckle* You should complain about the host being a bitch…you’re out there to relax not get ripped a new one by someone who’s got a case of the ass. Sheesh.
Just bring a crossbow with you next time and fun will be guaranteed…and probably a death or two, but that’s fucking fun!
Eh, I dont know about that. I already always have my Mossberg 12ga Pump action with me. I think a crossbow might just over-do it.
An a different matter, I gotta thank Timmy & Des. Since they got a house with A/C, they had fans to spare. I am now once again not completey dying of heat inside my apartment.
sounds fun
I went camping this weekend. Sorta. I was in a trailer on the Colorado River - does that count? It was a lot of fun, I even washed my hair in the river. How exciting. I didn’t see any scorpions - yay!
Go you for quitting! The thing that helped me quit is the money I saved. Cool little counter thingy lets you know.
