Warning: Serious and Personal

November 30, 2006 4:09 pm

Yeah, I know. I’m actually gonna talk about myself, about some serious crap going on. While about 99.9% percent of you don’t know me personally, you do read about how much I like to drink. What you may not realize, is that nothing has been exagerated. I seriously drink that much. A few weeks ago I started thinking about that, just exactly how much alcohol I drank in a week. Plus, I found this site that gave me an estimate on how much I spend on alcohol per year. I spend A LOT! So lately, I’ve been cutting back. I didn’t even feel like drinking much at the hockey game (though part of it was the horrible seasonal microbrew I had before the game). While I do realize the amount I drink has become a problem, I’m not gonna go to AA and start talking about it. Why? Becouse for one, I refuse to go somewhere and talk about myself (I’m quite happy doing it online), and two, AA is for quitters. I ain’t quitting. I’m just slowing down. Besides, holidays almost require alcohol for me (see Thanksgiving). And bars? I mean come on, how can I go to a bar (or play pool) without beer? Please.

Another change, while less exciting, is already having a totally dramatic improvement. I made the switch from regular to Decaf coffee. But only at home. Everywhere else I’m all about the caffine. Why did I make this switch? Well, hard to say really. I guess the fact that I drink so much of it, I got tired of my hands shaking after half a pot. Plus I haven’t seen much of a difference in the wake up juice.

There are some other things I’ve either cut back on or quit, but I’m not gonna talk about ‘em, just becouse. Later

Throwing Bears

November 28, 2006 5:08 pm

So over the weekend, I went to go see my local minor league hockey team, The Portland Winterhawks, play in their annual Teddy Bear Toss game. The idea is simple. As soon as the Winterhawks score their first goal, everyone who brings a stuffed animal throws it out onto the ice, and they all go to charity. The only problem was that the game went scoreless (and damn near fightless) until about a minute into overtime. So, here are some pics from the game, including my friend Jeff and the giant bear that he bought specifically for this game. They collected a record breaking 14,361 bears!

I drank Thanksgiving away…

November 24, 2006 1:39 pm

Here’s a crappy boring rundown of my Thanksgiving:
8:30 - Alarm goes off.
9:00 - Finally stop hitting snooze and get out of bed
10:00 - Get over to friends house to watch the Lions Game & drink
11:30 - Tired of watching Lions lose, go play pool & drink

1:00pm - Get done dominating at pool (and I SO dominated!) & drink

1:30 - Eat & drink

2:30 - Go play more pool & drink

5pm : Sit down and watch stupid movies & drink
8pm - Go home, take dogs out, watch more tv & drink more

That was about the extent of my Thanksgiving. Did I mention I drank a bit? Cause yeah, I drank a bit. Some of the funniest parts of the day were when we were watching movies, and everybody started quoting all the lines in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voice. Fucking Hilarious. Imagine all your favorite movies with the main charachter as Arnold. Like William Wallace in Braveheart. Can you imagine Arnold giving the big speech before the first major battle? Fucking awesome I tell you.

And Tracy….I Rule. So There!

And the Big Announcement, that will be here Saturday 4pm PST, while I am at a Hockey Game throwing Teddy Bears out onto the Ice for Charity. I will also be picking one up to send to Rachel for her Charity Drive…and so should you!
