So over the weekend, I went to go see my local minor league hockey team, The Portland Winterhawks, play in their annual Teddy Bear Toss game. The idea is simple. As soon as the Winterhawks score their first goal, everyone who brings a stuffed animal throws it out onto the ice, and they all go to charity. The only problem was that the game went scoreless (and damn near fightless) until about a minute into overtime. So, here are some pics from the game, including my friend Jeff and the giant bear that he bought specifically for this game. They collected a record breaking 14,361 bears!
That is AWESOME! I love those pictures. However, I’m a bit disappointed in not seeing a picture of the Chad with the giant bear. I mean, that could have been a potential header pic.
What a great idea for charity. Seeing all those bears on the ice was just awesome.

OMG!
Did Jeff have to buy a ticket strictly for the bear?
Did he suffer a hernia tossing it?
Did it make the “check of the game”?
Did it dent the ice when it hit?
LOL! I love it!

Isn’t is amazing what people can do when it’s for Charity??? Just goes to show there are some good people out there. Somewhere.
And you soooooooooooooooo do NOT rule.
If you think that’s weird, you should see Detroit during the playoffs. They throw squids and octopii on the rink — for real.
