Crisis of Faith Averted

September 29, 2007 2:09 am

First off, let me say that this post is getting posted in multiple places. It needs to be said. And Richard Dawkins can kiss my ass. If he wants to debate God with me he can come to my home to do it. I’d give him a taste of my shotgun before I’d ever admit he’s right. That pompus asshole can blow me. I believe anybody should be able to belive anything they want, especially without some dick calling them a retared becouse they choose to believe in somthing greater than themselves. Fuck Dawkins. right in the ass. just as he did to ms garrison.

Lately, I have been having a small crisis of faith. It was pretty much only known between me and my Mother. It wasn’t as though I didn’t believe in God. There is nothing on this planet (or even in the universe) that could make me not believe in God. Believing is not the issue. It never was nor will it ever be.

Faith, however, was.

Sorry, but after two knee surgeries and it still hurts, along with the never ending head pain, life was starting to suck. If you count that in with the fact that I can never seem to get ahead financially, life was really a-suckin.

My Mother called me the other day, and asked if I still believed in God. At the time, I said that I wasn’t sure. I should have said Yes, but that I wasn’t sure why. She kinda freaked out and kept sending me emails for the next few days. I basically ignored her. I really didn’t know how to politely say “Please just butt out and let me figure this out on my own.”

But, the past couple days have been a blessing in themselves. I’m not gonna explain them. I just finally realized …… something. And it really opened my eyes. I’m not going to change the life I have been living, becouse, sorry, but it’s my life, and for the most part I enjoy it. Other parts of it I need. Some of it people may not like, but hey, as long as it doesn’t affect them, I guess they shouldn’t worry about it.

And the final blow? You’d never guess that all it took was a couple movies, a birthday party and a game of Uno.

What can I say, When shit hits it hits hard.

Running Out Of Kleenex

I’ve been unbelievably sick all week. Well, I guess it’s not that unbelievable. It’s just a really bad cold. I don’t get sick all that often, and when I do, I’m usually on my deathbed. I’m just about over it, but it’s in the drainage stage. I still feel kinda dead.

I may have jumped the gun with the transfer announcement. I doubt I’ll get it, and even if I do, I may not take it. And I’ll explain why. First off, the place I wanna go is probably gonna give first dibs to the people at the plant next door to it thats shutting down. Second, I have to transfer my knowledge to others before I can go. And Me? I have a shitload of knowledge. I have madskilz that are not written down anywhere, and alot of it is stuff that some people on other shifts dont even know. Yes, I’m uber awesome.

Now, let me tell ya why I might not take it even if I do get it. The biggest problem is that there is no relocation package offered. And seeing as I would have to break my lease and get a new apartment (not to mention moving costs), I wouldn’t do it unless they were gonna pay for it.

So, either way, it wont really bother me. I just thought I’d give it a shot since I need to get out of the current plant I’m at.

Oh, and were going to watch The Transformers IMAX today. I can’t fucking wait. becouse, you know, its The Transformers. ON AN 80 FOOT FUCKING SCREEN! AND IT’S AN EXTENDED EDITION!

I put in for a transfer to Arizona yesterday.

 My boss was not thrilled.

In fact, no one was. I guess I’m just that important/awesome. :)

Sober Hockey

September 22, 2007 2:23 pm

Our local minor league hockey team, The Portland Winterhawks, had their season opener last night. For some reason, as they did last year as well, all thier home games will be at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, not at the Rose Garden. For those of you who don’t know, the Coliseum is old and busted. They have pictures of the Beatles playing here, and I’m talking the early, cool Beatles, not the hairy hippy Beatles. Anyway, the Rose Garden is fairly new. It’s nice, it’s got bigger, more comfortable seats, and the beer tastes good there. Oh, and they have the normal giant working Jumbotron. The Coliseum, however, does not. The beer always tastes like crap. And for some reason, their premium beer is some form I don’t like. The seats are old wooden pieces of shit. Their tron used to be just a crappy light board. This year, they advertised, and even mentioned before the game, their new, upgraded screens with a video replay system.

And here inlies the problem. The screen still blows. It would have been a shitty screen 10 years ago. And as for the video replay (you know, so you can see a couple shots of the goal that was just scored, or the badass check that put the guy through the glass?), well, I don’t even think any of them knew how to use it. It barely got used. I only saw about two replays, and it was only for a couple checks. No goal replays. No fight replays. No penalty reviews. So…..why do we have this new replay system?

Now, lets get back to the game. The game was against the Vancouver Giants, last years conference champions. Since I wasn’t all too enthuesed about drinking their crapass generic beer, nor did I want the microbrew available, I went beerless for the first period (a major rarity for me). We scored first. They scored second. We scored third. Then, for the rest of the game, they scored, scored again, and again, and again, and again. And really, the score didn’t bother me. My problem was that I came to watch hockey.  Except for the visiting team, I didn’t see much hockey. I saw an absolutely worthless game. People not passing, not getting it out of the zone when they had the opportunity. At least their were a couple fights that didn’t immidiately get broken up (as many, many others did).

I Still Don’t Want Your F$#%ing Paper!

September 21, 2007 3:15 pm

I got another newspaper the other day. Lets just say I wasn’t pleased. But, as per usual, I pushed it aside and called those bastards to complain. Apparently, I was taken off the daily rotation, but I was still signed up for the “free weekly” edition. Well, no longer. I can’t wait until they still deliver it next week. I’m thinking about seeing if a newspaper company can get charged with littering.

Ever since I moved a few weeks ago, I started shopping at the local grocery store near here. It’s a nice place, but one thing kind of irritates me. After the transaction is completed, they always take the reciept, read my name off of it, and say “Thank You, Mr. TheChad”. Now, I’m all about politeness and being friendly and all, but that just kind of creeps me out. Neither the cashier nor the people in line behind me need to know my last name. Maybe it’s just me, but it bugs me a bit. And to make it worse, earlier today, the cashier apparently didn’t know how to pronounce my last name, so it took her an extra 10 seconds. Yeah, thats just a tad bit annoying.

Eh, maybe it’s just me. I might be a tad cranky today. I only got 10 hours of sleep.

The good news is that I get to watch a hockey game tonight. Yay for hockey!
