I went over to Safeway for lunch today for one of their wonderful deli sandwiches and a Red Bull/Vitaman Water Combo. All the deli people were busy over in the Hot Wok area.

One guy came over a minute later to help, but the guy he had just helped decided he wanted to pay there, and freefully stepped in front of me to go ahead and pay.

Here’s a litte scene for you. Not only did he just basically cut me off, but to pay for his chop suey and his duece-duece of Hamms Lite in a can. Then, the girl he was with said something, and he looked back at me with some shit-eating grin and gave me some bullshit “Oh, sorry man”.

Oh, did I mention that the woman he was with turned out to be my neighbor? My chainsmoking somewhat hillbillyish neighborlady.

Anyway, back on point. The guy proceeded to pay for his products. With change. $5. Of change. Quarters. Dimes. Nickels. Yep, even pennies. And not just from one or two pockets either. All pockets. Even scrounging through the front pocket of his flannel jacket.

And then off he went, with the neighbor lady trailing 7 feet behind him.
