Life ‘08
January 2, 2008 3:07 amWell, here are in 2008.
I could do a recap of my life in 2007, but that just seems dumb. Instead, I’ll talk about now.
Life has been pretty good lately. Been hanging out with all my friends, snowboarding, even nearly rekindled a flame. You combine all that along with my new 360 and finally shooting my Blackpowder Revolver Rifle (and lets not forget the dogs!), and shit has just been fun lately.
My laptop started really screwing up the other day. It’s been jacked for awhile, but with some bandaids and a little TLC it’s been chuggin’ along….up until yesterday. It just completely crapped out. It may have been a virus, I’m not really sure, I just know it was effed in A.
So, after trying relentlessly for one painstaking hour, I just said fuck it and decided to start over from scratch. I backed up what I could (which wasn’t much) and went ahead with a fresh install. However, instead of my usual re-install of XP, I went a different route and used Ubuntu 7.10. My main compy has Linux on it already, but only as a dual boot, and I rarely use it.
I wasn’t originally going to go the linux route, but lately anything I try to do on the laptop ends up being so intensive that it cant handle it, and ends up just shutting down becouse the cpu heats up too high.
And so far I don’t regret the switch one bit. Everything works flawlessly, and unlike my time with Windows, hardly anything takes any time at all to load. Sure, there’ll be some programs I wish I could use still, but as long as I can get my email on the lappy, I’ll always have the 3.6 jigawatt Powerhouse computer for anything else.
