Another snowboardin’ day
January 19, 2008 7:34 amWent up to Mt Hood the other day. This time I went with a new friend from work, and it turned out to be an awesome day. It was near perfect weather. Sunny, little wind, the only thing that could have made it better would have been some fresh powder, as they didn’t have any fresh snow for a few days, so what was there was pretty well packed and even some of it kinda icy. It didn’t matter, I just enjoyed the day.
We ran pretty much nearly the majority of the runs, excluding most of the black diamonds and really hard or dangerous runs (becouse, you know, I like to be alive). We did get in a few black diamond, which were the first I had ever done. I took those pretty easy as they were kinda steep, but I did pretty good overall. For the regular runs, we flew. We friggin flew down that mountain.
It kinda sucked that my board wont hold a wax job any more, as I just had one two weeks ago, had to get another one before we started out this week, and it’s already all gone. Definitely getting a new board next year. And new bindings. My bindings suck.
The funniest part of the day was after Craigs zipper broke, causing his lift ticket to fall off. The guy checking tickets at one of the lifts told him to go to the ticket counter to get it fixed. At the ticket counter, they have a sign saying that they will not replace or fix any and all tickets, no matter what. He did not see this right away. He handed his lift ticket to the hot (really, really hot) ticket girl (and I mean super smoking hot!) and explained the situation. She smiled and pointed to the sign, and told him to read it out loud. And reinforced the “read it out loud” comment. Then she went on a hilarious power trip and told him she’d help him out, only after she made him hold up his hand, repeat some retarted “oath” that included calling her the awesome ticket girl, then he had to spin around 4 times with his hand on his head (which he actually spun around 8 times becouse he forgot the hand on his head for the first 4), and then had to call himself an idiot. And I just stood there laughing my ass off the whole time. She finally gave him a new ticket, and we headed out. And I still say he probably could have scored her number, but I guess he was just annoyed and wanted to get back to the mountain.
