12,000 Years Ago?

We went to go see 10,000 BC the other night. First off, we got there a little late and the only seats we could get were way off to the side up front (a tad bit off from my usual exact center of the theater). Now as far as the movie goes, I went in with way, way too high of expectations. It just looked so freakin’ awesome in the previews. So here is my review:

Once you understand that you have to view it as a purely fictional movie, with no educational or accuracy portrayal of any kind, then the movie is pretty cool. The cgi was phenomenal, and the movie never really slowed down at all.

With that out of the way, the rest was not so great. I won’t give it away, but just know that whoever made this thing has obviously never looked at a historical timeline. The one thing the movie really lacked was more (alot more!) Sabre Tooth Tiger. He just didn’t have a big enough part. Did the Sabre Tooth demand too much money? Was he eating people on the set? Why didn’t the Sabre Tooth Tiger have a bigger part? Holy crap, that was half of the trailer and that’s all he got for a part?

Alright, lets move on. So, I’ve had my Blu-Ray/video game player (AKA PS3) for a couple of weeks now, and so far I’m pretty happy with it (minus the announcement of the ps3/MGS4 80gb combo pack). The Blu-Ray movies are badass, and the upconversion is great. I also like it’s media center player better than the 360’s as well, as it automatically resizes the videos, rather than waiting for me to tell it to. It’s also quite a bit more customizable, such as fine tuning all your video and audio settings, as well as allowing various mods and OS changes. Now all I need is the DVD remote and I’m good to go.
