I’m Still Alive, Are You?
April 23, 2008 3:07 pmYeah, I know I haven’t written much here lately. I’ve been a bit busy.
Anyway, I thought I’d give everyone a nice little update on how things are going.
Jennie and I are very happy together and very much in love. She is wonderful, “the cheese to my macaroni” if you will.
Kaeo still has the possible tumor. His surgery was supposed to be tomorrow, but I had to push it out a couple weeks becouse I’m still not totally convinced that it is a tumor. It has since shrunk back down to normal size, the open wound has since scabbed up and is now healed, so all there is is a hairless spot with some thickness to the skin. It is all possible that it may just go away. I’m hoping for that.
I can still snowboard! Because global warming is happening right now, it is still cold as fuck here in Oregon, and MT Hood is still getting bombs of snow.
Audioslave is now one of my top favorite bands. I never really listened to them before, and after some mentions by my brother and Sirius playing them every now and then, I finally went and got all their albums. I haven’t stopped listening to them since. And Chris Cornell can fucking sing. Like no other. He is just superb. (They were talking on Serious Octane that they were gonna try and get him as the new lead for Velvet Revolver. How cool would that be?)
I go on day shift for a couple weeks starting Sunday. I’m totally looking forward to it. Why? Simple. I get to sleep at night for a change. Too bad it’s only for a couple weeks and not permanent, but hey, I like my 13% night shift pay.
Does anybody still read this?
I just ordered my new free quad-core chip from work. Now all I need is the money to upgrade my current compy to use it. I’m thinkin’ a triple boot compy with Vista (just becouse), Ubuntu, and OS X. Oh yeah, it’ll be badass.
I bought the Juno Soundtrack for the GF. She loved it. Me, while it is interesting music that I don’t mind, I’m not gonna listen to it much more than when I watch Juno.
I’ve been playing around with High Dynamic Range photos lately. Now, while I don’t yet have a camera worth while to do a great looking one just yet, I think the shot’s I’ve done don’t look too bad. A few of them are up on my flickr page (which you can get to by clicking any of the images on the sidebar!)
I’ve played an absolute shitload of Burnout Paradise lately. I am 97% done with the game. All I have is 12 more Stunt runs to finish and then I’ll get the Elite License and be completely done with the game. I only have one problem. I hate stunt runs and I suck ass at them. I managed to get through 3 of them yesterday, but I’m not so sure about the rest.
I also just got Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec II (long ass name, eh?) for the ps3. I was kind of excited about this game as all I’ve read about it made it seem sweet, and I loved GT1, 2, and 3. GT4 kind of sucked, but whatever. So, first off, the graphics are second to none. They are just phenomenal. However, the game itself, as I quickly realized, was still Gran Turismo. And anybody who has really played Gran Turismo knows what I mean when I say that. They removed all the “upgrade” that you could do (you know, so you no longer can make a Skyline with 1900hp) , which I think I like. However, the fact that they made it as real as possible also makes it less fun. Driving the slower cars just sucks, and the way the tracks work just boggles the mind sometimes. And from just coming off playing Burnout, it just isn’t anywhere near as much fun. And where’s the damage? I read somewhere that they were supposed to have damage, if cosmetic only, but I haven’t seen it. I tried running into a wall to try it and all I got was a time penalty. LAME!

YAY for you & Jennie doing so well…I’m really glad to hear that!
We had 84 degrees here in Hell today - no snowboarding, but I sure loved the convertible!
Yep, I still read this!
And now I have a sudden urge to listen to Audioslave…
