Still Here

July 28, 2008 10:23 pm

Yeah, I’ve been gone for awhile. So, in the last month, I’ve been pretty busy.

We went up to Seattle for the 3rd and 4th of July to watch a couple baseball games. The Detroit Tigers were in town, and just our luck, they lost both games. We also watched fireworks over the bay,  visted Bruce Lee’s grave, and as per tradition, went to Pikes Place.

We went camping last weekend. We found a really nice place over near Tillamook, so it was a nice short drive (unlike the 3 hour trip the previous years). I found a new Cabelas store on the way to Seattle, so I picked up a new Cast Iron cooking set, which kicks ass. I made a pot roast in the dutch oven over the fire, and it was just great. I loves my cast iron.

I finally picked up the the final piece of the puzzle to my new computer. I got a new chip from work awhile back, the quad-core 9650 (look it up if you’re interested). I had a new motherboard and ram, but just now got a new cpu cooler. Once I finally put it together, the dual boot setup must have got screwed up or something, so I basically ended up having to reinstall windows (and cant use linux, for now). That sucked. However, the cpu cooler is just a giant heat sink with a basic case fan, so it’s uber (AND I MEAN UBER) quiet. Like, really, really quiet. Ah, and the computer fucking screams. It is just unbelievably fast. It used to take me over 20 minutes to compress a dvd copy. Now it only takes 5. Fucking fast. Now all I need is the 50ft HDMI cable, the tv tuner, and possibly a remote. This thing is just badass.

Jennie and I celebrated 6 months together the other day.  I can’t believe I was so lucky to find her.

Well, that should do it for now. Oh, and since I refuse to pay for flickrs storage fees, I haved moved all my pictures over to Picasa. You can check them all out here.
